A
session was conducted by Mr. K. Rajeswar Rao, Member, Genesis group, on
Strategic management with respect to Business Excellence Models, on 23rd
December, 2015. Large number of U.G and P.G students of GITAM Institute of
Management participated along with the faculty members. Mr. Rao highlighted the implications of
strategic management. He explained about the business excellence models by
illustrating the current scenarios of Bollywood movies in terms of the reviews
and the earnings. He said that money is not everything and success cannot come
from money. He stressed on the definition of success from business perspective
and also raised a question whether success is the only yardstick to measure
organizational ranks. He also said that constant success for an organization
can be achieved by good leadership qualities. Business excellence is all about
maintaining leadership and excellence is all about taking risk. He related about
human mentality with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Every transaction of life or
a role in an organization should be fair and ethical. Adoption of leadership
cannot be done at a time as it is a systematic process and organizational
behavior is all about human values. While wrapping up the session he simply
suggested to the students to always stretch beyond their limits, learn new
things, never to be idle and to always attain something which is unparalleled
in history.
