A Student Seminar was organized by the Department of Entrepreneurship for the students of GITAM Institute of Management on the topic of Social Entrepreneurship on 29th July, 2015. The keynote speaker was Dr. Patrick McNamara, Director, International Studies Program, University of Nebraska, Omaha, USA. In his highly enlightening and motivating address, Dr. Patrick McNamara gave a thorough introduction to the concept of Social Entrepreneurship with examples like Gandhiji, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, Mohammad Yunus, Varghese Kurian, Rajmohan Gandhi and Anna Hazare. He suggested several valuable strategies for students to become successful entrepreneurs with the ultimate aim of social welfare which he termed as the need of the hour.
