PERSONAL_EMPOWERMENT

A session on Personal empowerment was organized by GITAM Women empowerment cell of GITAM University on 4th March, 2016 in Ambedkar seminar hall, GITAM Institute of Technology. This session was organized for all the female faculty members of GITAM University. The chief speaker of the session was Prof. V. Balamohandas, Former Vice-Chancellor, Acharya Nagarjuna University.

Prof.P.Sheela, Chairperson, GITAM Women empowerment cell and Vice-Principal, GITAM Institute of Management gave the welcome address. Prof. V. Balamohandas shared his experiences of life. He also highlighted the traits necessary for personality empowerment. He explained many remarkable personality traits of women with inspiring quotes and examples.

Dr. Kasim Beebi, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Technology, GITAM University proposed vote of thanks. The session was hosted by Prathyusha Reddy and Sruthi Yandra, MBA Students, GITAM Institute of Management. A large number of female faculty members of GITAM University were present in the seminar.

Pranic Healing experts Ms. Swarnamala and Ms. Ramani organized sessions on Pranic Healing for faculty and students on 4th and 5th March, 2016. Ms. Swarnamala, an academician with over two decades of experience as a global therapist and healer, enlightened the audience about the art of Pranic Healing which focuses on channeling positive universal energies into the body, mind and soul and getting rid of all negative energy which is the root cause of disease. She initiated students and faculty into basic Pranic Healing techniques and spoke of the benefits of the therapy and how it helps in curing various physical ailments and mental disorders and in enhancing concentration and performance in studies and career.

GITAM Women empowerment cell of GITAM University conducted a workshop on interpersonal skills at work on 4th March, 2016 in GITAM Institute of Pharmacy. The workshop was conducted for non teaching staff of GITAM University. Mr. K. S Krishna Mohan, Director-Marketing, T.I.M.E, Visakhapatnam was the chief speaker of the session.

Prof. P. Sheela, Vice Principal, GITAM Institute of Management and Chairperson, GITAM women empowerment cell gave the welcome address. Mr. K. S. Krishna Mohan spoke about importance of interpersonal skills and need to improve the interpersonal skills at work. He made the session very interactive and large number of non teaching staff of GITAM University participated in this workshop.

Dr. Shaik Kasim Beebi, Associate Professor, Biotechnology department, Institute of Technology, GITAM University proposed the vote of thanks. The session was hosted by Akanksha Udandravu, BBM Student, GITAM Institute of Management and Sruthi Yandra, MBA Student, GITAM Institute of Management.

On the occasion of International Women’s day, GITAM Women empowerment cell of GITAM University organized a session in KRC Auditorium on 8th March, 2016. Mrs. Chandralekha Mukherjee, Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair Division-East coast Railway was the chief guest at the gathering. The distinguished guest for the event was Dr.R.Sasi Prabha, Gynaecologist & Former Director, Medical education, Govt. of AP. The guest of honour for the event was Mrs.K.Deepika, Director of Sagar Durga Developers and alumni of GITAM University.

The session started with lighting of the lamp and the prayer song. Prof.P.Sheela, Chairperson, GITAM Women empowerment cell and Vice-Principal, GITAM Institute of Management delivered the welcome address and also conveyed wishes of Women’s day on behalf of GITAM University.

The guest of honour for the session, Mrs.K.Deepika enlightened the gathering by sharing her experiences and challenging in life and shared with students tips for becoming  successful women entrepreneurs.

The distinguished guest of the session, Dr.R.Sasi Prabha opined thatit is very important for a woman to follow a proper diet, health and exercise plan to lead a healthy life. She also spoke about her experiences with the patients and also spoke about safety issues relating to women.

The chief guest of the session, Mrs.Chandralekha Mukherjee spoke about her challenges as a civil servant and the importance given to women in Government sector. She also spoke about her experiences as DRM, Waltair division-East coast railway. She gave valuable tips to all the students on how to become successful in life.

ANNUAL_SESSION_OF_YOUNG_INDIANS_VISAKHAPATNAM_CHAPTER_2015-16

Annual session of CII-YI Visakhapatnam chapter 2015-16 was held in Novotel, Visakhapatnam on 20th March, 2016.  Mr.Rana Uppalapati, Chairperson of CII-Young Indians Visakhapatnam chapter hosted the session. He started with an awe-inspiring brief presentation on all the activities conducted by YI in the year 2015-16. Mrs. Poonam Shah Srinath, Chairperson, South Region, CII-YI, spoke about Masoom-an initiative by CII and Childline. She spoke about the plans for reaching the rural India and also told about the CII-National Summit to be held in New Delhi soon. Mr. V. Murali Krishna, CII-Chairman, Visakhapatnam Zone said that CII-YI is the best platform for youth for personality development. He asked the youth to take membership in CII-YI which would benefit them by learning communication skills and personality development. The voice of young Indians globally is the vision of CII-YI.


Mr. G.S. Shiva Kumar, Chairman, CII, Andhra Pradesh addressed the gathering by speaking about innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship. He said the CII Partnership summit-2017 would be held in Visakhapatnam which will be initiated by CII-YI.


Emphasising the role of Gen-Y in nation’s development,  Srikakulam MP and second youngest MP of India,  K. Rammohan Naidu, appealed to the youth to be more innovative and contribute to the business sector. While addressing the session Rammohan Naidu urged the youth to come up with innovative ideas, which can be put in use to develop Vizag into a Smart City.  At the Annual Session of Yi, Srinivasa Transports business developer D. Akhilesh Reddy was appointed as the chairman of YI Visakhapatnam, while Preeti Tubes managing director Deepak M. Menda was appointed as the Co chair, YI (Visakhapatnam) for the year 2016-2017. The Young Indians’ team also launched a poster and sticker of “Horn Not Ok Please”


GITAM Institute of Management was certified as the Best supporting partner of the year 2015-16. Prof. K. Siva Rama Krishna, Dean and Principal, GITAM Institute of Management, GITAM University and students of GITAM Institute of Management were present in the session and had a great experience interacting with Mr. K. Ramamohan Naidu.

  2. On 5th March, 2016, Prof. K. Madhu (Retd. ), Department of Psychology, Andhra University, addressed the students on “Life Skills for a Better Living”.
  3. On 17th March, 2016,  Mr. Arun Sharma, APEX, Visakhapatnam spoke to students on the topic “How to Prepare for Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning”.
  4. On 19th March, 2016, Mr. T.Venkateswarlu, Asst.Professor, GIM, made a seminar presentation on Influence of Children in Super Market Shopping in Vizag City”.
